Title: Usability Designer II

Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid, Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Remote Monday and Friday)

Duration: 6 Months

Standard work hours - 8am-5pm

Interviews: In person, if local.

About the role:


  • The candidate will be working with project teams to enhance or build UI interface applications for client's business.
  • The expectation is that they seek to understand the business needs along with IS development goals for the future.
  • The candidate will be heavily involved in customer interaction for feedback on the applications being built as well as collaborating with the development teams.
  • The ability to ask clarifying questions, provide recommended approaches and leverage experience is expected.
  • The candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to integrate the look and feel between two applications that are tightly coupled but separate



Team Name: Commercial Systems Claims and Membershp
Commercial Systems has an initiative to create a modern UI experience for our business users. This hire will be critical to designing and potentially developing the front end experience and workflow for the users

About the Team/Projects/Candidates:

  • The candidate will be a critical part of the Usability Design of two major UI applications for Commercial Systems. One is constructed and is being enhanced, the other is being initially built.
  • The goal is to design a seamless and consistent user experience between the two applications.
  • The teams working on these apps are highly collaborative and are striving to achieve a common goal of creating a power user experience for our business partners.
  • Note that if the candidate has development experience, these skills may be utilized as well.


Required Technologies: Solid experience of Figma UI design tool, understanding of JavaScript-based applications

Nice to Have: JavaScript development experience, Nodes.js and Vue.js development. This is a bonus if the candidate has these capabilities

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Research, Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Research, Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.

Required Work Experience: 2 years user interface design experience.
