As a Reliability Test Engineer focusing on electrical and mechanical testing, you will play a key role reliability improvement into Tesla Energy's. Thispositionplays a crucial role in thereliability lifecycle of the product from developmenttesting/analysis, manufacturing, and field operationtooptimizeproduct design for best-in-class lifetime customerexperience.
What You'll Do
Perform reliability testing forCharging& Residential energyproducts Determine component/system level test solutions that optimizeproduct reliability and durability,PFMEA-based risk mitigations, test team resources, and program schedules Execute independently Tesla energy product, subsystems(including switching converters,enclosures,busbars/conductorsand actuators) Conduct test data analysis,andclearly communicate test results, and collaborate with design and reliability engineers to resolve issues detected in testing Procure and develop required test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to enhance creativecomponentand product level reliability testing Facilitatetestfailure root causeanalysis to understand the root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, reliability, and manufacturing engineers to suggest design and/or process improvements and address reliabilityanddurability issues based on understanding of failure root causes Continuously driveproductrisk burndown to ensure product design is reliable and durableduring reliability tests Capability and willingness to train technicians/interns to operate and troubleshoot test systems tooptimizethe workload Comply with safety policies and regulations
What You'll Bring
Degree in Electrical Engineering orMechanicalEngineering, or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in power electronics hardware design, design validation, hardware testing, mechanical system reliability, and durability testing Knowledge of programming in scripting languages for test automation and data analysis/post-processing (Pythonpreferred) Experience specifying sensors for test instrumentation and utilizing data acquisitionsystems, and using basic hand and power tools Experience working safely with high voltage equipment (up to 1kV) Experiencepro-activelyowning and delivering test engineering projects within accelerated validation timelines Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organization and documentation skills

Expected Compensation
- Associate Test Engineer - $82,440 - $123,660/annual salary
- Test Engineer - $98,640 - $147,960/annual salary
- Sr Test Engineer - $117,360 - $176,040/annual salary
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
