*Job Title:* Grievance & Appeals Coordinator I *Experience Level:* Entry Level
*Location:* Remote (Central Time Zone) *Schedule:* Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (1-hour lunch between 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) *Pay Rate:* $23/hour (depending on experience) *Position Purpose* The Grievance & Appeals Coordinator is responsible for analyzing and resolving verbal and written claims and authorization appeals from providers, as well as pursuing resolution of formal grievances from members. This production-based role requires accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in a fast-paced environment. *Key Responsibilities* * Gather, analyze, and report verbal and written member and provider complaints, grievances, and appeals. * Prepare response letters for member and provider complaints, grievances, and appeals. * Maintain files on individual appeals and grievances. * Coordinate the Grievance and Appeals Committee as needed. * Support pay-for-performance programs through data entry, tracking, organizing, and research. * Assist with HEDIS production functions, including data entry, provider outreach, and claims research. * Manage large volumes of documents (copying, faxing, scanning incoming mail). * Work through assigned queues in the CenPas system with high focus on aging and timeliness. * Engage actively with team members via Microsoft Teams for collaboration and support. *Education & Experience* * *Required:* High School diploma or equivalent. * *Preferred:* Associate's degree. * *Experience:* 2 years in grievance/appeals, claims, or related managed care experience preferred. *Top Skills & Qualifications* * *Must-Haves:* * *Strong oral, written, and problem-solving skills.* * Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. * Skilled use of Microsoft Office platforms (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint). * *Nice-to-Haves:* * *Familiarity with Medicaid, DSNP-Medicare, and/or Marketplace.* * 2+ years grievance or appeals, claims, or related managed care experience. *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
