Job Summary

#CA-JEM

Under the direction of the Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)-a senior, volunteer-led partnership program within UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE)-provide classroom support, coordination, and operational management for OLLI instructional programs delivered across face-to-face, technology-enhanced, hybrid, and online modalities. This position supports Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs) and other instructional spaces, including in-person classroom setup and management; operation and troubleshooting of instructional technology; support and coordination of volunteer instructors and classroom volunteers; training instructors on classroom technology; and general program coordination to ensure classrooms are prepared, functional, and responsive to instructional needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
  • Classroom support experience in a higher education environment to handle instructor and student inquiries professionally, expediently, and with minimum direction.
  • Experience planning/coordinating logistical details for continuing education classes or events for adults with specific attention to mobility safety.
  • Administrative office support experience including large amounts of data entry and tracking materials and information.
  • Experience organizing workload independently and setting priorities to perform multiple interrelated tasks, meet multiple deadlines, and complete large volumes of administrative work during peak periods with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, online and via email with a diverse group of older adult students.
  • Technically proficient with standard business software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic database systems to complete spreadsheets, merges, tables, correspondence, and forms within standards. Proficiency with Internet search engines, zoom, etc.
  • Skills to learn new software/systems/technology quickly and train others on their use.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with older adults and volunteers in activities and work assignments.
  • Experience in training employees or coworkers professionally and with minimal direction
  • Knowledge of UC purchasing, accounting and travel reimbursement procedures. Knowledge of web-based tools and/or exposure to online learning/learning management systems.

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the lifelong learning arm of the university. Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
