POSITION PURPOSE

The Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) works with the field sales and internal team to educate and facilitate the delivery of clinical information to the customers via continuing education, in-service sessions, as well as supporting trials and research studies. The CSL participates in local, regional and national professional meetings and trade shows to promote the science around the PDI Infection Prevention products; participates in infection prevention education and publications; serves as a subject matter expert for both internal and external customers; and identifies and collaborates with key thought leaders and organizations within the industry. The CSL also serves as the primary clinical affairs contact to external customers and supports the field team as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES



  • Serve as primary Clinical Affairs contact with customers within established territory
  • Schedule and perform in-service and continuing education promoting the science around infection prevention products to customers with the purpose of expanding use within departments as well as creating additional distribution to other departments within facility
  • Contribute clinical and scientific content expertise to the development and execution of PDI's regional and national educational activities
  • Develop and foster relationships and programs with key national accounts
  • Develop scientific advocates through clinical thought leader recruitment
  • Support sales and marketing efforts through dissemination of scientific and pertinent research information
  • Attend local, regional and national meetings as time permits or assigned by the Director, Clinical Affairs
  • Attend Company meetings and other trade shows as requested to support the business
  • Keep abreast of new developments in competitive product information, and trends or changes in infection prevention and control
  • Other duties as assigned by Director, Clinical Affairs


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor's Degree in health related field required; Master's degree in health related field preferred. Certification in infection control and epidemiology (CIC) preferred.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:



  • Infectious disease principles
  • Healthcare segments and regulatory/accreditation standards
  • Patient care processes
  • Patient safety initiatives and regulations at federal/state/local levels
  • Current clinical science in infection prevention and disease transmission


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



  • At least three (3) years clinical experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent experience working within public health setting
  • Presenter of continuing education (CE) programs


SKILLS/ABILITIES:



  • Development of scientific abstracts and publications
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web search
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills


WORKING CONDITIONS



  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.


SALARY RANGE:



  • $110,000 - $125,000 annually
