Lab IT Support Specialist - RICP

As a Lab IT Support Specialist, you will act as a trusted IT partner for highly educated laboratory researchers and business leaders. You will use your expertise in connecting laboratory IT systems with high-end scientific instruments for optimal data generation, transfer, and integration. You will devise IT solutions that cater to cutting-edge research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support laboratory-specific IT systems and infrastructure to ensure secure, stable, and efficient operations within the pRED demanding scientific research environment.

  • Proactively address laboratory-specific needs by designing, implementing, and maintaining bespoke IT solutions that enable seamless workflows and cutting-edge research.

  • Collaborate closely with pRED scientific users, stakeholders, and instrument vendors to achieve optimal connectivity and integration between computational systems and sophisticated laboratory equipment (e.g., microscopes, cell counters, analyzers).

  • Act as a liaison between the scientists and the data governance teams to implement compliant data handling, storage, and archiving solutions.

  • Provide technical expertise for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of laboratory-specific PCs, peripherals, networks, communication devices, and connections with scientific instruments.

  • Proficient handling of laboratory computer systems, including backups, monitoring, OS imaging, and remote management tools to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Log and prioritize requests, incidents, and issues through ServiceNow, ensuring timely and consistent resolution.

  • Monitor and enhance service quality through ongoing performance evaluation and feedback, fostering continual improvement in system and workflow efficiency.

  • Maintain precise inventories of IT hardware, software, and network assets to support effective resource management.

  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with scientific teams, business leaders, service teams, and global RLS collaborators to deliver tailored support and enable breakthrough research in pRED.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of IT experience with a proven track record in maintaining and supporting laboratory IT systems, including PCs, peripherals, networks, and scientific equipment connections.

  • Hands-on experience with laboratory system workflows and interaction with scientific equipment vendors for device integration and custom solutions.

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data integrity in scientific environments, along with robust knowledge of data archiving and handling.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems, with certifications such as ITILv4, CompTIA Network+, or SAFe Agile viewed as an advantage.

  • Strong understanding of data security and industry standards in scientific research IT.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pennsylvania is between $99,300 - $184,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
