Job Summary:

The Commercial Finance and Alliance Manager is a key member of the Finance organization that directly supports our Alliance business partner relationships and commercial organization. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this role works closely with key stakeholders across multiple departments, functions, and external organizations. The Commercial Finance and Alliance Manager will support the Commercial Finance team in revenue and operating expense related forecasting and accounting including finance support for Alliances.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Alliance management, accounting and decision support:



  • Assist the Director of Financial reporting in managing the financial aspects of the Company's various external business partner relationships.
  • Partners with various cross-functional departments senior leaders to maintain Alliance management continuity in decision-making support and metadata accumulation and coordination.
  • Assist relevant departments with real-time decision making and accounting recognition of cost-sharing arrangements for both domestic and international agreements.
  • Assist with budgeting and reforecasting processes for various Alliance partners.
  • Manages relevant monthly and quarterly close related activities.
  • Manages billings, collections and cost-sharing arrangements with Alliance partners.


Revenue related planning, accounting and decision support:



  • Maintain gross-to-net sales revenue recognition models including gross to net calculations in support of quarterly budgets/forecasts, long range plans and contracting strategies.
  • Lead monthly close process for commercial products and related analysis of period unit sales, payer reimbursement mix and the impact of contracts and statutory rebates on gross to net deductions.
  • Assist Director of Financial Reporting in managing customer relationships, 3rd Party Logistics vendor(s), and administration of trade, commercial and government rebate programs.


Commercial operational expense management:



  • Partner with Commercial departments, where appropriate, to forecast spend on a quarterly basis and develop reporting, predictive analytics, and actionable insights.
  • Manage monthly close activities, including general ledger accounting, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
  • Support contract review and full procure to pay cycle for commercial agreements.


Other areas:



  • Maintains compliance with SOX requirements as well as US GAAP and Company policies.
  • Prepare schedules in support of the quarterly and annual financial statements and assist team with external auditor requests.
  • Other ad-hoc research, data analysis, department financial planning or Long-Range Planning projects as defined by the Director of Financial Reporting.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience or at least three years of experience in Big 4 public accounting.
  • Prior life sciences, software or other high-tech industry, and public company experience preferred.
  • Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system or other sources to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Demonstrated advanced Excel financial modeling, revenue reporting, pricing decision support and analysis, and product launch support.
  • Passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement in processes.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Confidentiality and Integrity - must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization. Must possess and maintain the highest degree of security and confidentiality of information.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel required.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $100,000 to $125,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

You also will be able to participate in a competitive benefits package, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k company match, company paid life insurance and health and wellness benefits. The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company's discretionary annual bonus program.
