About the role

All applicants must be currently enrolled in Palm Beach State College Electrical Power Technology program.

Under general maintenance supervision, the Electrical & Instrument intern/Co-op is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient daily operation of the facility. This individual will assist in basic electrical and electronic work in the maintenance of motors, control centers, and electrical fixtures in support of the entire facility operation. Also responsible for maintaining operation of the entire plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements, in conjunction with National and Local Electrical Codes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with installs, maintains, performs PM's, repairs, calibrates, test, and adjusts any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and other industrial equipment. Installs, repairs, and maintains all power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls, and related equipment.
  • Entry level knowledge of instrumentation and PLC's is necessary for troubleshooting control circuits; DCS exposure will also be helpful.
  • Assists with inspects, tests, adjusts, repairs, and maintains high voltage equipment, including but limited to generator, AC and DC motors, as well as all plant switchgear and related equipment.
  • Assists with planning & detailing of jobs assigned, using sketches, blueprints, schematics, and drawings. Consults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards.
  • Under supervision may assist to work on live lines to keep the operation going (in accordance with all safety procedures).
  • May install heavy equipment such as bus bar, switchgear, or other related items.
  • Performs rigging on motors, switchgear, and related equipment.
  • Operates and maintains various powerhouse and RDF equipment such as switches, transformers, relays, breakers, and rectifiers necessary for electric and power control.
  • Assist to complete work orders, logbooks, and other required forms in a clear and legible manner.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Keeps all blueprints and OEM manuals in neat and proper order.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training and safety programs.
  • Knows, understands, and complies with all company safety regulations and procedures. Follows any assigned shifts or schedules.
  • Knows and complies with all National and Local Electrical Codes.
  • The ability to operate various hand and electric tools.
  • Knowledge but not limited to Pipe Thread Machine, Grinder, Drill press, Ban Saw and other Machine and Fabrication shop common equipment.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High school education or equivalent
  • Must be currently enrolled in Palm Beach State College (PBSC) Electrical Power
  • Technology Program.
  • Completed Environmental Health & Safety course and OSHA certification - PBSC.
  • Completed Electric Power System course - PBSC.
  • Completed DC Circuit Analysis course - PBSC.
  • Windows based PC knowledge including Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Physical Demands of the Role:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency

Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.

The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $35,600.00 - $47,300.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
