GFT is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Inspector to join our Transportation team in our Orlando, FL office!This position follows a fully onsite work model, requiring attendance to the office and field sites.

What you'll be challenged to do:

The Entry Level Bridge Inspector will support data entry efforts for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Bridge Management System via an online platform. This role requires a team player with strong communication skills who is comfortable working both in the field and in an office setting. Willingness to travel and work outdoors is essential.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducting field bridge inspections and assisting with preparation tasks.
  • Organizing and entering inspectors' notes into the FDOT Bridge Management System.
  • Preparing and formatting reports for submission to stakeholders.
  • Taking field measurements and converting them into usable data.
  • Supporting various administrative and operational tasks, including but not limited to:
    • Creating and managing digital folders for different FDOT districts.
    • Tracking inspection files for multiple projects.
    • Communicating with sub-consultants and team members on assigned tasks.
    • Maintaining organized file systems for various inspection projects.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years of data entry experience or construction industry experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in outdoor, hands-on work and supporting inspection activities.
  • Basic computer proficiency with a minimum typing speed of 50 WPM.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to team learning, problem-solving, and open communication.
  • Willingness and ability to work in outdoor environments and travel as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to carry 25lbs, perform field work, and work at heights and/or over bodies of water.

What we prefer you bring:

  • Certifications in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Paint.NET, and Google Maps.
  • Experience with FDOT Mainframe systems and the Bridge Management System.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $18.00-$22.00. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
