What's new with Aptar Our fastgrowing, technologydriven manufacturing company is seeking a SMED Technician to join our 12hour, 2/2/3 rotational day shift. This is how your journey begins:
- Install and remove injection molds in a safe and efficient manner.
- Communicate the status of mold changes to the operators, supervisors, technicians, and process engineers.
- Mold installs will consist of clamping mold in the press, proper mold alignment, water, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical connections.
- Mold pulls will consist of disconnecting all mold connections, putting all components in mold specific box, transporting mold to toolroom or stored area, and preparation of injection molding machine for incoming mold.
- Troubleshoot any issues with injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain organization of mold boxes and components.
- Create mold boxes and necessary components for new molds.
- Train other Setup team members on safety, operational procedures, and startups.
- Complete LOTO, Crane, Forklift, and Fall protection training.
- Working Knowledge of SQF and GMP procedures.
- Perform daily housekeeping to provide a clean and safe work environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Install and remove injection molds in a safe and efficient manner.
- Communicate the status of mold changes to operators, supervisors, technicians, and process engineers.
- Perform mold installs by clamping the mold in the press, ensuring proper mold alignment, and completing water, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical connections.

Required Qualifications
|
- Candidate must possess strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Preferred minimum of 1 year of injection molding experience; however, the right candidate with a mechanical background may be trained.
- Crane and forklift experience preferred.
- Can work overtime, including weekends, as directed.
- Must be physically able to walk, climb, and access equipment as required to perform job duties.
- Must have demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
