Job Description




As a Security Officer - Healthcare Facility in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a welcoming presence for staff, patients, and visitors. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, remaining visible, and offering exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: MORNING/AFTERNOON/OVERNIGHT SHIFTS AVAILABLE UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK - PART TIME SCHEDULES ALSO AVAILABLE

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for healthcare environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents, documenting details as required by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and granting entry to authorized individuals as needed within the healthcare setting.
  • Support the enforcement of site policies and procedures to help to maintain order and a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, and emergency personnel during routine activities and critical situations.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards or security-related risks, reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccines are required for work in hospital environments.
  • Work may include assignment in hospital morgue areas.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in hospital environments as required.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
