What to Expect
The Failure Analysis Team's mission is todetermineroot cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla's products by reducing field issues, in collaboration witha communityof other engineering teams. Engineers and technicians on the teamare responsible fora wide variety of vehicle and energy product systems for existing models and models in development. This extremely high visibility individual contributor role requires extensive hands-on work focused on electromechanical failure analysis and root cause activities. We areseekingan enthusiastic, fast-learningengineerwho finds enjoyment in understanding how things work and how we can correct and prevent issues from occurring. They willbe responsible for assistancewith diagnosing electromechanical concerns. A successful candidate will need to be familiar with various analysis techniques involving non-destructive and destructive techniques. Examples of those include capturing and understanding 2D X-ray data, mechanical sample preparation,assembly tear down, cross sectioning, basic electricalfault isolation, andsummarizing findingswhilereporting mechanismand cause of failure.They will work alongside experienced engineers whileutilizingsophisticated failure analysis tools toidentifyfailure mechanismsobservedin engineering, production, and field environments. $84,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
