BWBR is seeking a highly capable, licensed Architect with experience in the science and technology market to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, understands complex building systems, and is comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative designs for high-performance facilities.

This role offers the opportunity to work on technically sophisticated projects that support research, innovation, and advanced technologies while contributing to thoughtful, sustainable design.

Responsibilities

* Lead the design and documentation of S&T facilities, including laboratories, research buildings, cleanrooms, and advanced manufacturing spaces.

* Generate space programs, flow diagrams, site plans, and floor plans for client review and approval.

* Lead client meetings, presentations and design reviews and respond to feedback to ensure the design progression according to the project schedule. Ensure requirements are communicated to the full project team.

* Collaborate with BWBR's internal team as well as external consultants on all aspects of the building design such as building common spaces, exterior envelope, chemical/code analysis, control areas, lab casework design, utility terminations, interior finishes, site plan, structural, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.

* Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards including life safety and laboratory guidelines.

* Prepare documents and perform Quality Assurance reviews of project documentation at major project milestones.

* Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to a collaborative and productive environment.

* Participate in marketing or other activities as needed.

Qualifications

* Licensed Architect in the State of Wisconsin.

* 10+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated work on science and technology-focused projects.

* Proficient in Revit for all phases of design and documentation.

* Strong understanding of laboratory planning and design plus technical building requirements.

* Solid knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and life-safety requirements.

* Excellent listening, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and work effectively in a team-based environment.

* Experience with other markets such as higher education, healthcare , or government facilities a plus.

* Familiarity with sustainability strategies, high-performance building design, or LEED projects.

* Construction administration and field coordination experience.
