The opportunity
The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 8-Friday, August 14, 2026. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week. Interns will earn $17.50-$21.50/hour.
This role is on-site at 3 Blackfan Street, Boston. Specific work hours will be determined by the supervisor.

What you'll do
  • Cell culture and maintenance of pluripotent stem cells and differentiating inner ear and skin organoids under sterile conditions
  • Immunohistochemistry and microscopy, including staining and imaging of organoid sections
  • Live-cell imaging
  • Data organization and analysis
  • Weekly lab meetings, journal clubs, and one-on-one mentorship sessions
  • Work independently on assigned tasks after appropriate training, demonstrate strong attention to detail, adhere to lab safety protocols, and engage collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Attend a 2-day program orientation and onboarding
  • Participate in virtual and in-person workshops and activities

Who you are
  • You are an undergraduate college student in good academic standing and will be enrolled in a two-or four-year program for Fall 2026, and you are interested in working in healthcare
  • Foundational knowledge of cell and molecular biology, including familiarity with sterile technique, pipetting, and solution preparation
  • Basic understanding of microscopy, genetics, or neuroscience, ideally through coursework or prior lab experience
  • Comfort with data recording and quantitative analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dependability and time management
  • Showing up prepared, meeting agreed-upon timelines, and maintaining consistent experimental records
  • Collaborative mindset

Recruitment process

  • Scheduling an appointment during one of our on-site onboarding days
  • Obtaining appropriate work permits and documentation, as needed
  • Health records
  • Proof of Employment Eligibility
  • Media release

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
