Position Summary

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Intern to join our team to protect our organization from cyberattacks by monitoring our systems, reviewing and reporting configuration anomalies, and evaluating threats as they arise.

A Cybersecurity Intern's responsibilities include reviewing computer networks and system deployments for identifying any potential vulnerabilities, requesting the necessary software in order to protect it from unauthorized access, and documenting detections so that future events can be mitigated efficiently.

This is a paid Summer Internship Program (early June to early August). As an intern with our IT Cybersecurity group, you'll assist with:

  • Monitoring computer networks for security issues.
  • Investigating security events and other cybersecurity configurations.
  • Requesting security measures and operating configurations to protect systems and information infrastructure, including Operating Systems and data management programs.

Your job responsibilities and projects will be based upon your experience and educational background to provide real life application of your classroom knowledge. You'll work closely with a mentor to ensure your developmental goals are met and that you meet your performance expectations.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn 'real world' experience and accelerate your career by working with a leader in the oil and gas, aerospace, and entertainment industries. This intern position focuses on OT Cybersecurity.

Ultimately, you will defend an organization's computer hardware, software and other systems from theft, loss and other cyberattacks.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Document security configurations, events and assess the damage or risk they cause.
  • Work with the OT Cyber security team to perform tests and uncover system vulnerabilities and help document.
  • Request adjustments to detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
  • Stay current on Information Technology (IT) and OT security trends and news.
  • Assist in developing company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Perform penetration testing and Vulnerability scanning.
  • Help colleagues review security software and understand information security management.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student at an accredited University, pursuing a degree associated with Cybersecurity.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, IT Security applications and tools.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • No relocation or housing assistance is being offered.
  • Interested in work experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in information security or related field.
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Understanding of firewalls, SIEM, antivirus and IDPS concepts.
  • Ability to research and identify solution vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
