Process Engineer (R&D / Manufacturing)

Pay Rate: Up to $46.50/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Location: Maple Grove, MN

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to support the development of products, materials, processes, and equipment for projects of moderate complexity. This role works cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a regulated environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and eager to contribute to product and process innovation.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and improve products, materials, manufacturing processes, and equipment to meet performance and quality requirements.
  • Compile, analyze, and report operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for new or modified products and processes.
  • Participate fully on project teams, contributing to:

    • Process design and development
    • Material testing and evaluation
    • Specification preparation
    • Process capability studies
    • Engineering reports and documentation


  • Plan and manage individual work activities to meet project timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments.
  • Design, procure, and support fabrication of tooling and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot product, material, and process issues related to design or manufacturing.
  • Analyze test results, draw conclusions, and communicate findings to technical stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Create concepts and designs for new products or processes and submit idea disclosures as appropriate.
  • Train or provide work direction to technicians as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing teams to ensure project success.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PDP/TPD systems through delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables.



Quality & Compliance Responsibilities



  • Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance with applicable quality system requirements and regulated industry standards.



Qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Biomedical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience with a BS, or 0-2 years with an MS
  • Ability to demonstrate competency in current engineering systems and tools
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
  • Self-starter with initiative and willingness to learn


Preferred:



  • Experience with Windchill or similar PLM systems



Team & Work Environment



  • Work within a small core team of ~10 engineers, with collaboration across a larger group of ~20 professionals
  • Project teams typically consist of ~10 members
  • Collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment
