Position Summary The Workforce Development Consultant is a high-impact individual contributor who serves as a strategic architect for system-wide workforce development initiatives. This role leads the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of workforce programs that support BCH's current and future workforce needs. Working across departments, the Consultant bridges strategic planning and operational execution by piloting innovative initiatives, optimizing workforce technologies, analyzing workforce data, and integrating cross-functional efforts to advance organizational workforce goals.
This role reports to the Director, Workforce Development and partners closely with the Senior Manager, Career Programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, pilot, and evaluate innovative workforce development models, including credentialing pathways, hybrid learning formats, and career progression frameworks aligned with BCH's strategic priorities
- Analyze workforce data and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify talent gaps, emerging trends, and opportunities for targeted program development
- Optimize workforce development systems and reporting by leading the development of analytics dashboards and enhancing workforce technologies to streamline workflows and improve data quality
- Support grant development by contributing to program design, impact models, sustainability plans, and evaluation frameworks
- Lead and integrate cross-functional workforce initiatives, partnering with teams such as EDI, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management to ensure programs are inclusive, aligned, and scalable
- Develop scalable frameworks, toolkits, templates, and implementation guides to support replication and expansion of successful workforce programs across departments
- Represent BCH in external workforce development forums, partnerships, and learning communities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, workforce development, or related field, including cross-functional program design and project management
- Experience and knowledge of healthcare careers and workforce pathways
- Demonstrated ability to design and prototype innovative workforce initiatives
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies
- Strategic thinking skills with the ability to align programs to organizational goals and future workforce needs
- Experience supporting grant proposals, including program models, outcomes, and evaluation frameworks
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting ideas and developing business cases
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, deliverables, and pilot programs independently
- Technology fluency and the ability to learn and use a variety of recruiting systems, databases, and workforce platforms
The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
