Clearance: Secret

Hourly Rate: $30.00

Travel: <5%

Systems Engineering Group (SEG), an Astrion company, has openings for 10-week summer internships in Phenomenology Modeling at our Columbia, Maryland office. Systems Engineering Group is a highly regarded provider of air and missile defense threat engineering and combat, radar, and missile systems engineering and analysis. Principal customers include the U.S. Navy, Missile Defense Agency, and Industries.

These interns will support development of phenomenological models and tools that support data production and analysis. These include supporting ongoing activities in the following areas:

  • Operational and post-intercept debris
  • Waking vehicles
  • IR Seekers
  • Clutter
  • Generating documentation for all data and models
  • Interfacing with SEG management, program management, and government customers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance. US citizenship is required for eligibility as per the cognizant security agency and requirements of the programs supported in this role.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Degrees in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or Applied Math.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to read and write MATLAB, Python, or similar code to processes and analyze data
  • Experience with documentation and presentations via Microsoft office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work in small teams or groups
  • Ability to work independently with help as needed
