The Licensing Manager (LM) leads the development and execution of licensing capabilities and processes at Carilion Clinic. This is a high-impact, growth-oriented role that spans the full arc of commercialization - from early-stage evaluation to deal closure - while building the infrastructure to scale Carilion's innovation footprint. Operating within a rapidly growing biotech and life sciences startup ecosystem, the LM will play a pivotal role in connecting Carilion-developed innovations to regional, national, and global markets - accelerating technology adoption and fueling the next generation of health solutions. What We Require: Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership, licensing, or equivalent healthcare experience required including technology transfer experience. Experience in commercializing intellectual property and managing technology transfer activities within healthcare or related environments. Experience with the patent process, including negotiating and executing licensing and collaboration agreements. Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft office. Proven experience in technology transfer, intellectual property management, and commercialization within a healthcare or research environment.
