DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Transportation Planning Technician, your role will entail collaborating with the Planning and Programming Manager and the District Portfolio Manager to support the department's agenda in accomplishing District Business Plan goals and objectives. You will be responsible for collecting, interpreting, inputting, and analyzing transportation planning data related traffic counts, truck percentages, zoning information, accident data, and more. You will further analyze and compare data on a statewide, regional, or district-wide basis for technical studies and coordinate comprehensive and widely dispersed traffic planning field data collection studies. In addition, you will assist with creating and processing fiscal documents related to project programming. This involves maintaining an electronic record of fiscal transactions and transfers to ensure programming budgets are fully accounted for and balanced.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year experience as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of technical transportation planning work experience and an associate's degree in mathematics, statistics, civil engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, planning, computer science, or geography; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
