Your Opportunity as Regional Sales Manager, Frozen Hanheld, Spreads & Coffee Sales

You will manage Smucker's Frozen Handhelds and Spreads & Coffee portfolio at C&S Wholesale Grocers as well as key regional retailers across the country. Responsible for delivering sales, trade budget and profit targets for our Coffee, Frozen Handheld and Spreads portfolio. In this role, the Regional Sales Manager will lead multiple broker sales managers and collaborate with internal Smucker cross-functional partners to develop promotional plans, drive supply chain efficiency, and elevate our business partnerships.

Location: Edina, Minnesota(Local JM Smucker Sales Office)

Work Arrangements: Hybrid - on-site a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires

In this role you will:
  • Lead, develop, and coordinate business strategy for C&S Wholesale as well as Key Regional Chains
  • Lead customer contact for C&S operating divisions and key regional customers.
  • Achieve annual targets for sales volume, net sales / profit, and market share within trade budget
  • Manage trade planning process to ensure accurate spending & timely reconciliation
  • Monitor and adjust to competitive, industry, and customer environment
  • Manage Sales Broker business teamto ensure optimal execution of annual sales goals, quarterly sales priorities, and key retail initiatives
  • Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key customer, internal Smucker cross-functional groups, and Sales Broker team
  • Develop and lead Joint Business Planning process with internal Customer Category Business team and key retail customers
  • Analyze sales results, promotional events, and assortment gaps to develop plans to drive growth
  • Maintain monthly volume forecast with Customer Finance
  • Support company climate and culture initiatives
  • Lead and influence negotiations for new items, key initiatives, etc.
  • Build collaborative partnership with Supply Chain team to drive solutions and reduce cost-to-serve at Customer

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5+ years of Consumer Packaged Goods sales experience

  • Grocery Wholesaler Channelexperience

  • Broker Management experience

  • Experience with sales forecasting/analysis/data base management/financial & budget management

  • Self-motivated and has ability to manage and prioritize multiple/diverse priorities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Syndicated Data (IRI/Circana and/or Nielsen) experience

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills (negotiation, selling, presentations, etc)

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • CPG Food/Beverage Sales experience

  • Cross functional experience in category management, trade marketing, sales analysis

  • Ability to manage extended work scheduled as needed including business travel; ( 25-50% travel for customer engagement) and adhere to company policies & procedures
