This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Associate I, Automation Technical Support (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks related to testing, installing, and maintaining automation/SCADA systems. You will contribute to advanced projects, make significant decisions, and influence project outcomes.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Handle complex tasks related to testing, installing, and maintaining automation/SCADA systems, including input/output signal hardware, controllers, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), networks, communication, database, and software.
  • Contribute to the development of advanced projects using your growing expertise and problem-solving abilities.
  • Make significant decisions within your project area, influencing project outcomes.
  • Stay current with advances in automation and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) technologies.
  • Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control.
  • Complete all required training and meet individual job requirements to contribute to the overall compliance of the organization.
  • Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
  • Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work Schedule: 2nd shift; 11:00am - 8:00pm CST
  • Travel Requirements: None

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • The ability to read schematics (electrical/pneumatic)
  • Mechanical experience
  • Diagnose motor controls
