Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced CVIR leader to support our Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology services.

The Director of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) collaborates closely with the Medical Directors of CVIR services and hospital leadership to develop and execute strategies to meet goals on patient satisfaction, financial growth/performance, quality/safety, and employee engagement. Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support strategic objectives and organizational goals within the CVIR service line. Directs, plans, coordinates, monitors, promotes, and evaluates all components of the CVIR service line. Provides oversight and leadership for the following areas: IR Labs, Cath Labs, EP Lab, Recovery Unit, Cardiac and Vascular diagnostic testing centers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a member of Patient Care Leadership, Shared Leadership Councils and contributes to the decision-making process in nursing services.
  • Leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals.
  • Takes ownership of the positioning of the program as a regional competitor in providing full CVIR services such as interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, echocardiography, noninvasive peripheral vascular modalities, and other related services as necessary.
  • Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships accordingly.
  • Develops work plans and schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Establishes performance expectations and provides direction, feedback, and guidance to CVIR supervisors and staff.
  • Oversees assigned functional areas to ensure they are performing effectively, which may include but is not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization's goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success

Minimum Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support

Experience - Five years of experience in management and leadership roles. Clinical background and leadership experience specific to CVIR.

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
