The EPMO Portfolio Manager Senior is a strategic individual contributor role that supports enterprise portfolio governance, demand intake, and prioritization processes. This role serves as a critical connector between strategic planning and execution, partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Strategy, IT, and Operational leaders to evaluate, structure, and advance initiatives aligned with organizational goals. The Senior Portfolio Manager plays a key role in facilitating intake assessments, coordinating portfolio analysis, supporting governance forums, and ensuring that initiatives are evaluated consistently with a focus on value, feasibility, and alignment to strategic objectives. This role helps ensure that enterprise decision-making is informed, transparent, and aligned with resource capacity and strategic priorities.
Essential Job Function
- Coordinate and facilitate portfolio intake and evaluation processes in alignment with enterprise governance standards.
- Analyze business cases, strategic alignment, and value assessments for proposed initiatives.
- Prepare materials and insights for governance forums to support prioritization and go/no-go decisions.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key business stakeholders to understand strategic needs and ensure alignment of proposed initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between operational areas and the EPMO to facilitate clear understanding of portfolio decisions and rationale.
- Support the development of portfolio dashboards, reports, and insights to track progress against strategic objectives.
- Identify trends, gaps, risks, and dependencies across the portfolio and elevate findings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of portfolio metrics, tools, and processes.
- Monitor post-implementation benefits tracking and value realization in collaboration with business leads and Finance and recommend process improvements to enhance portfolio management maturity and governance discipline.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions, workshops, and annual prioritization cycles.
- Support development and refinement of portfolio management tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Market Research, Math/Statistics, or a related field.Preferred: Masters degree
Experience
- Required: Minimum 8 years of experience in portfolio, demand, or project management within a healthcare or complex matrixed environment.Demonstrated experience translating strategic priorities into actionable project portfolios.Strong background in business case development, value analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Preferred: PMP or Agile Scrum Master certification.
