Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Mgmt Coord to join the team. This role is Full-time Days working 40 hours weekly with rotating weekends.

Emergency Mgmt Coord Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Incident Management Teams by ensuring the early introduction of recovery conversations to promote a more seamless transition.

  • Provides follow-through on identified areas of opportunity with designated points of contact.

  • Supports the implementation of, and training for, the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS).

  • Ensures that a program of training and exercising exists that focuses on the activation of, response to and standard work for Incident Management Teams.

  • Conducts hazard vulnerability assessments and appropriately documents findings.

  • Identifies the need for, develops and thoughtfully implements plans that align with system, local, regional, state and federal plans; carries out exercises that align with organizational needs.

  • Collaborates with relevant community stakeholders and represents the organization's interests in emergency management-related initiatives.

  • Leads the Emergency Management Committee.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in public health or healthcare emergency management and/or business continuity.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Homeland Security, Public Safety, or a related field preferred * Master's degree in Emergency Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline preferred
  • Familiarity or completion of FEMDA Professional Development Series and Hospital Incident Command System (HICS)
  • Emergency Planning / Training & Exercises
  • Experience with emergency management platforms
  • Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of:
    • 1.) CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule (42 CFR *482.15)
    • 2.) Joint Commission Emergency Management (EM) standards
