What You'll Be Doing:

As an In-Home Family Services Specialist, you'll work directly with families to help them overcome challenges and build skills for long-term success. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing in-home support and teaching practical skills to strengthen families.
  • Connecting families with community resources such as schools, healthcare, and social services.
  • Offering crisis intervention and guidance when needed.
  • Building strong relationships with families and collaborating with professionals like teachers, doctors, and social workers.
  • Developing service plans, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and 1 year of experience working with children and families
    • OR (in rural Iowa) Associate's degree and 2 years of experience
    • OR (in rural Iowa) 4 years combined education and experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising their health and well-being or that of their fellow employees, youth, or families.Duties are performed in a variety of environments ranging from highly stressful and potentially aggressive (physical interventions, escorts, etc.) to casual and leisurely, in both indoor and outdoor settings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to outside weather conditions and maybe required to visit homes with substandard living conditions and domestic pets.
