  • Bachelor's in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR

  • Master's with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR

  • 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree

Overview

Metronome is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support an AWS-based systems team. The role involves working closely with technical and program leadership to implement the next generation of desktop and web-based production and dissemination systems. This position requires hands-on experience with Windows Server in cloud environments and the deployment and maintenance of custom code, COTS, and GOTS applications.

Program core hours are 9am-3pm ET, with occasional evening or weekend work (approximately twice per month, depending on mission requirements).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform systems administration and DevOps activities supporting innovative analytics, exploitation, production, and dissemination systems.

  • Build and configure Windows instances across multiple development, test, and operational environments.

  • Deploy, patch, and troubleshoot applications in AWS-hosted environments.

  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for code delivery and integration.

  • Collaborate with internal/external development teams and enterprise components to deliver mission-critical solutions.

  • Develop, test, and maintain PowerShell scripts.

  • Support custom code deployments, code reviews, and DevSecOps workflows.

  • Utilize GitLab for version control, error handling, and scripting.

  • Support RedHat OpenShift deployments and operations.

Required Skills
  • Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility required).

  • DoD 8570 compliance (Security+).

  • Experience with AWS cloud environments.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS.

  • Background in system design and architecture (hardware, software, networking).

  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting.

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with GitLab functionality and error troubleshooting.

  • Exposure to RedHat OpenShift.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ArcGIS or other geospatial technologies.

  • Advanced AWS services knowledge (CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS).

  • Knowledge of AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, load balancing, autoscaling).

  • Experience with Python webapp development.

  • Ability to create and maintain architecture diagrams.

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and RocketChat.

  • Microsoft and/or AWS certifications.
