The next Edo Leader will lead this expansion by combining strategic focus and disciplined execution with a highly external-facing approach to leadership. This includes deepening utility and partner engagement, shaping industry dialogue, and positioning Edo as the market leader in commercial energy demand flexibility and virtual power plant (VPP) enablement.
The role requires someone who can navigate complexity with clarity. Edo operates within a corporate incubation model, supported by strategic investment from industry players. The new Leader will manage these relationships and external visibility. This is a unique opportunity for a leader who understands energy and buildings, is fluent in cross-sector dynamics, and thrives in fast-moving environments.
Key Responsibilities
External Engagement and Market Development
Serve as a compelling public representative of Edo with utility leaders, partners, and public stakeholders.
Build strategic partnerships and represent the company in key industry forums to strengthen Edo's market position.
Lead the transition from pilot-scale deployments to scalable, high-impact programs that improve unit economics and operational leverage.
Align cross-functional execution, spanning delivery, product, sales, and finance, around clear market signals and growth priorities.
Operations and Effectiveness
Drive internal improvements across systems, processes, and team structure to enable faster, more efficient delivery.
Collaborate with technical and delivery leads to improve solution repeatability, cost structure and gross margins.
Ensure organizational alignment through goal-setting, clear communication and strong day-to-day leadership.
Vision and Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of a long-term strategy that positions Edo as a market leader in commercial building demand flexibility.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans across product, markets, and operations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- Prior experience as a CEO, founder, or senior executive in a growth-stage company (10 to 100+ employees).
- Deep familiarity with the U.S. utility sector, including executive relationships and regulatory context.
- Experience scaling revenue-generating businesses that include software, services, or hybrid delivery models.
- Demonstrated ability to manage investor relationships and guide capital strategy.
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the commercial building sector, including technologies, retrofit cycles, and stakeholder dynamics.
- Familiarity with utility grid programs, energy markets, or virtual power plant (VPP) models is strongly preferred, especially as applied to commercial buildings and flexible demand solutions.
Leadership and Communication
- Strategic thinker who can focus the organization on the highest-impact initiatives.
- Clear and compelling communicator, able to engage a wide range of stakeholders with credibility and empathy.
- Track record of strong but collaborative leadership, especially in multi-stakeholder settings.

The pay range for this position is $175,200- $296,800 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
