We are seeking a strategic and technically adept leader to oversee the engineering and operational management of all overhead, contract research organization (CRO), and site management organization (SMO) applications within Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI). This role will lead a team of systems engineers responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications that support clinical research operations. The Director will ensure alignment with SCRI's digital strategy and collaborate cross-functionally with McKesson and external partners to uphold enterprise standards and drive innovation. Duties include but are not limited to:
Lead the full lifecycle of application engineering across overhead, CRO, and SMO systems, including implementation, configuration, performance tuning, and integration. Manage system engineers and foster a high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation. Oversee release management, testing, and validation processes to ensure stable and secure deployments. Collaborate with Finance, Quality, Clinical Operations, and external CRO/SMO partners to ensure systems meet evolving business and regulatory requirements. Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to replace manual processes with scalable, efficient solutions. Ensure data integrity, user access controls, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Coordinate vendor relationships, including contract management, roadmap alignment, and issue resolution. Maintain comprehensive documentation and a knowledge base for system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting. Support audit readiness and collaborate with internal and external auditors on system-related documentation. Monitor system performance and proactively implement enhancements to improve reliability and scalability.

12+ years of experience in clinical research or related fields, with a focus on application engineering and system support. Extensive knowledge of advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and change leadership In-depth understanding of clinical research processes, regulatory requirements, and industry trends Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, SAP, Veeva, Vestigo, and EHR systems. Expertise in system interoperability and data exchange across clinical platforms.
