Position Overview

We're in a transformative period for commercial real estate and portfolio management. The rise of hybrid work, advances in workplace technology, and evolving business requirements are creating unprecedented opportunities to reimagine how organizations structure their real estate portfolios to deliver strategic value through optimized footprints, cost efficiency, and geographic alignment.

We are seeking an experienced Director to lead JLL's Consulting practice engagements specializing in Portfolio Strategy. This role will serve as a subject matter expert who develops and implements comprehensive portfolio strategies that align client real estate footprints with enterprise objectives, operational needs, and financial goals.

You'll drive cutting-edge portfolio optimization initiatives, from developing strategic footprint plans to analyzing market opportunities to create portfolio frameworks that adapt to evolving business requirements. This role offers the opportunity to shape how organizations structure and manage their real estate portfolios while delivering measurable financial and operational outcomes for global enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex consulting engagements for Portfolio Strategy projects

  • Apply our best-in-class portfolio frameworks to meet the needs of our most innovative clients, delivering enterprise-wide portfolio transformations across different industries and markets

  • Guide clients through strategic portfolio decisions including consolidations, expansions, relocations, lease vs. buy analyses, and geographic footprint optimization * Design and implement comprehensive portfolio strategies that optimize costs, enhance operational efficiency, and support business growth objectives * Conduct detailed portfolio assessments including market analysis, financial modeling, risk evaluation, and scenario planning

  • Develop portfolio roadmaps that integrate market trends, business requirements, financial constraints, and operational considerations

  • Lead capability development initiatives, define portfolio strategy best practices, and spearhead team upskilling programs related to portfolio optimization

  • Collaborate with JLL Consulting Capability Leads and business lines to identify integrated service opportunities that leverage portfolio expertise

  • Contribute to business development through new business pursuits, RFPs, and client presentations focused on portfolio strategy solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Strategy, or related fields

  • 7+ years of experience in consulting or industry roles with demonstrable focus on portfolio strategy, real estate finance, and market analysis

  • Proven expertise in portfolio optimization with specialization in financial modeling, market analysis, and strategic planning for corporate real estate

  • Strong track record developing and implementing portfolio strategies for corporate clients

  • Superior executive presence with exceptional presentation, communication, and analytical storytelling capabilities

  • Experience leading and mentoring teams through complex portfolio analysis and strategic planning projects

  • History of delivering quantifiable financial results and ROI through portfolio optimization programs

  • Ability to navigate complex real estate markets and influence stakeholders on portfolio decisions

  • Advanced financial modeling and project management experience

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel modeling skills and familiarity with real estate analytics platforms

Attributes Strategic mindset with ability to translate complex market conditions and business requirements into actionable portfolio strategies

  • Exceptional client relationship skills with proven ability to become a trusted advisor on high-stakes portfolio decisions

  • Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing portfolio optimization strategies across diverse markets and property types

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, market research, and data-driven portfolio decision-making

  • Commercial real estate market knowledge with understanding of lease structures, valuation methods, and portfolio risk management

Estimated compensation for this position:

180,000.00 - 240,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
