About the Role

We're looking for on-call Archaeologists to join our Cultural Resources team supporting upcoming projects in Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington. This position will be on-call with duration and schedule of assignments dependent on project needs.

You Will:

  • Participate in archeological survey, evaluation, data recovery, and monitoring support.
  • Operate GPS equipment, conduct excavations using shovel probes, auger probes, and test units, and monitor backhoe excavations and construction activities.
  • Additional responsibilities after fieldwork, including artifact processing, report preparation, and other writing assignments.

You Have:

  • Undergraduate degree with archaeology coursework.
  • Archaeology field or comparable internship, training, or work experience. 1+ year of experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Washington and Oregon archaeological site types.
  • The ability to hike in the range of 10+ miles per day and carry loads of 40 lbs. over difficult terrain.
  • The ability to travel between work sites within Eastern Washington & Oregon, occasional overnight travel may be required.

Compensation Information: Hourly rate for this position is in the range of $27-$35 depending on qualifications.
