Deputy Program Manager

This position is a key member of our legacy vehicle leadership team, reporting to the Program Manager for the progam. This is a fast paced, dynamic and demanding program that requires excellent communication, organization, and strategic thinking.

GDLS is seeking a highly motivated and Deputy Program Manager to join our dynamic team. The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Manager in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects within the Abrams STS program. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.

  • 9-80 Work Schedule (This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating program activities to ensure that goals, objectives, and program deliverables are accomplished for each project within scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Support program control in planning, budgeting, and execution of programand projects
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Control program risk management, identifying risk candidates. and implement risk mitigation plansas necessary.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including customers and contractors, to ensure program requirements are met and expectations are managed.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, including cost estimates, schedules, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support the Program Manager in conducting program reviews and audits and in preparing and presenting program status reports to senior management and customers.
  • Build and lead diverse teams across enterprise process centers

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field. Other degrees will be considered with relevant experience. Masters degree a plus.
  • 10 plus years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project or program management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Department of Defense or similar industry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Customer interface experience with USG and/or external suppliers desired
  • Proposal development experience preferred (lead or support)
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
