Position Title: Lathe Operator
Wage: $17.60- $18.60/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 3:45pm-2:15am Tuesday-Friday QPS Employment Group is hiring a Lathe Operator for a company in Springfield, MO. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Lathe Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read work orders, follow production drawings, and receive verbal instructions regarding daily job duties - Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other using hand jigs, fixtures, and devices - Crimp, stake, screw, bolts rivet, solder, cement, press fit, or perform tasks to secure parts in place - Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets - Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to the assemblies - Perform assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, and color coding parts and assemblies - Follow instructions, accept constructive criticism, and convert into a positive outcome - Adjust and trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics - May tend, operate, and/or set up machines that press, shape, or wind component parts and may include drill press, retaining tool machine, SGM sleeving machine, Arbor press, Wave solder pot, Sealant/Glue machine, Pneumatic impression stamp machine, Video-jet ink machine, UV curing machine, Auto-contact bender machine - Tools may include pliers, screw driver, hammer, vise, torque wrench, caliper, tweezer, hand bending tool, nut runner tool, contact insertion tool, wire stripper, crimp tool, X-acto knife, check plates, vice grip, micrometers, dial gauge, microscope, scales, syringe needles - Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics - Perform online go-no-go testing and inspections to ensure parts and assemblies meet specifications - Participate in safety programs, adhere to company guidelines and safety protocols, other duties as assigned Lathe Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Regularly stand and sit for long periods of time of up to 8-10 hours - Able to stoop, kneel, or crouch routinely throughout shift - Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds - Ability to lift up to 65 pounds occasionally and up to 45 pounds regularly - 1-3 months of electronic assembly preferred - Ability to work independently or in a team environment - Good attention to detail and the ability to stay focused - Must be able to work well alone and with teammates, must have good communication QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
