DIRECT REPORTS: None

EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt, Full-time (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

CLIENT/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) is a global scientific society committed to advancing extracellular vesicle research, education, and clinical application. With members around the world, ISEV provides premier meetings, journals, and educational offerings.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for the general management of ISEV communications and marketing activities related to the mission and strategic plan, as well as daily administrative duties. This position works closely with the Executive Director in managing client projects and programs, and implementing activities that further ISEV's objectives. Liaises with various committees as assigned to provide assistance and support. Works closely with other staff in all areas of client activities, and implements specific projects as determined.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (minimum of 37.5 hours/week) :

  • Utilize and keep updated current marketing communications strategy that supports the mission and strategic objectives of ISEV across all functions of the Society;
  • Manage ISEV social media channels, including creation and implementation of social media campaigns throughout the year;
  • Administer updates to ISEV website, compile the analytics for all sites and make recommendations for improvements to the website;
  • Maintain editorial, graphic and branding standards for all ISEV communications;
  • Create and manage email campaigns for all ISEV activities, with oversight of the Executive Director;
  • Answer information calls regarding ISEV related programs and activities; monitoring the general info account and checking the voicemail box;
  • Stay updated on new marketing and communications technologies, best practices, and industry trends to identify innovative strategies and solutions that will drive growth in quality lead generation (i.e., new members, meeting attendees, and/or virtual community users);
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, prepare communications-related project proposals and budgets, assist in their approval process, and retain budgetary responsibility for their implementation and completion;
  • Recommend operational process improvements to eliminate reoccurring issues or potential new issues;
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Communications and Membership Committee and Global Extracellular Vesicles Network (GEVN), distributing meeting agendas and materials, and recording meeting minutes;
  • With ISEV Administration and Membership Manager, develop and implement standards of practice for ISEV working groups;
  • Provide backup for the Executive Director when needed;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent organizational and communication skills; team player; ability to prioritize varied assignments and handle multiple projects; proficiency in Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of Excel, Association Management System(s) and Outlook.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Approximately 3-4 weeks per year. Some weekend and evening work may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a full-time position is located in our office in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimal lifting required - usually at meetings or while exhibiting. Ability to move quickly within meeting facilities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Some early morning, evening and weekend work may be required to meet client needs.
