Summary: The Director, New Business Development - TM is responsible for selling GEODIS solutions to prospective customers. Functioning in a hunter role, this position will use a consultative sales approach to create and cultivate lasting customer relationships. This is not a pure sales position. The Director, New Business Development - TM must also have the capacity to sell GEODIS technology, and bring forth tactical as well as strategic technical solutions to solve customer enterprise needs. Job Duties: - * Participates in GEODIS business development processes to analyze client requirements, determine fit and customizations, develop proposals and cost estimates, and present GEODIS capabilities and solutions to client prospects * Identifies new business opportunities with existing clients and collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop proposals or additional services * Qualifies, manages, and closes sales opportunities in new accounts * Works with new customers during implementation process to ensure any potential issues are addressed in a timely manner * Collaborates with Director of Sales to provide coaching, define prospecting approaches, mentoring, and encouragement to inside sales force as appropriate * Be accountable for end to end commercial performance of strategic opportunities including acquisition of RFP, efficient and competitive pricing, closing of the award, and implementation. * Monitors progress and delivery of services according to service level commitments * Achieves established sales quotas * Maintains appropriate sales development to ensure healthy pipeline management * Generates customer leads through combination of cold calling, attending/conducting online webinars, attendance at trade shows, conferences, and on-site customer visits * Works on special projects * Other duties as required and assigned Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or Marketing preferred * Minimum 7 years in new account sales, preferably selling value-based processes; or an equivalent combination of education and expeirence * Supply Chain, 3PL experience with carrier experience considered a plus * Experience with financial management (cost accounting experience preferred) * Experience in selling technology applications such as MercuryGate * PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel * Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects * Ability to write, read, interpret, and act on proper understanding of material or related documents * Excellent communication skills, combined with comfort in prospecting, selling, and closing Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk. The employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
