HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Director of Marketing Analytics, Forecasting & Research leads a growing team responsible for delivering data-driven insights and strategies to enhance audience engagement and revenue growth for the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. This pivotal role will shape the future of marketing and sales operations by advancing innovation in analytics, artificial intelligence, E-commerce, and forecasting capabilities. Reporting to the VP of Audience & Revenue Management, this leader will use data to guide key business decisions-growing existing audiences such as Members while identifying, targeting, and converting new ones, including high-value and single-ticket buyers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization and promote the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation that supports our mission of saving species.
  • Define key marketing performance indicators and develop reports to track and measure performance based on these metrics
  • Oversee qualitative and quantitative surveys and research, including brand health, customer satisfaction, and market analysis.
  • Partner with the membership agency of record to develop and execute analytics strategies to deepen Member engagement, loyalty, and retention.
  • Create and maintain predictive models for attendance, ticket sales, membership growth, and promotional impacts.
  • Forecast revenue trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend pricing strategies that support growth and sustainability.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR JOB EXPERIENCE



  • 7 years of experience in marketing analytics, forecasting, or revenue optimization, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity required.



EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Data Analytics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field required.



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE



  • Able to analyze, research, and report out complex information in a concise, factual manner.
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), and statistical languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL).
  • Demonstrated success in e-commerce performance optimization, digital sales analytics and customer segmentation.
  • Familiarity with AI applications in marketing (personalization, churn, prediction, pricing models).
  • Demonstrated success in audience cultivation across a variety of mediums.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Able to work collaboratively with many teams in a diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Able to handle confidential and complex information with a high level of professionalism, tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and projects effectively with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to operate moderately complex computer programs, including database and CRM systems.
