Experienced Structural Engineer
Overview The Solid Mechanics department of Electric Boat is recognized among the Navy Community for its structural analysis expertise and its ability to deliver innovative, practical solutions to the most challenging problems. Senior/Experienced Engineers in Solid Mechanics leverage their deep knowledge of engineering mechanics, advanced computational simulation (finite element analysis) methods, material sciences, and solid dynamics to solve a wide variety of complex structural-mechanical problems. They play a key role in driving practical design solutions, leading risk assessments, and influencing manufacturing processes. Experienced engineers are expected to:
Apply and interpret Navy and industry methods and criteria while also developing and validating customized analysis approaches and acceptance criteria.
This role is suited for engineers with significant professional experience who are eager to contribute their expertise, influence key engineering outcomes, and shape the technical direction of projects critical to national defense. Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home.
