What you'll do:
Responsible for ensuring the company's policies and procedures comply with regulatory (SOX) and ethical standards by developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies while evaluating the efficiency of business process and IT controls and improving them continuously. The ideal candidate is able to handle multiple stakeholders, work streams, and priorities as needed. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the design and implementation of controls in alignment with regulatory requirements. Manage the scope, testing, and remediation of business process and IT audits and ensure timely resolution of findings. Advise process and control owners with remediation action plans for identified control deficiencies. Review the testing of the design and operating effectiveness of Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and IT SOX to ensure they are operating efficiently. Review business process and IT SOX documentation and assist process owners in making updates. Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or resolve violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures across the business and evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously. Evaluate and perform reviews and gap analysis on key business and IT processes. Provide consultation guidance to the business on policy and process. Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues. Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations. Assess the business's future ventures to identify possible compliance risks. Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training. Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control. Prepare and present reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate. Coordinate with internal and external audit teams, as necessary. Interact with all functions and departments serving as a subject matter expert on internal control. Lead and develop the internal controls team fostering an environment of continuous improvement and efficiency. What you need to be successful:
Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in SOX, compliance, or audit- including SOX IT controls and Segregation of Duties (SoD). Manufacturing industry experience with in-depth knowledge of the industry's standards and regulations is preferred. Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or similar education applicable to business process and IT controls. Proficient with AuditBoard GRC and Microsoft Office Suite. Expertise in IT change management oversight, audit coordination, and policy development and business process risk identification and controls. Fluent in English; German is a plus. Preferred: Big four public accounting experience. Experience with AuditBoard. Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CIA, CPA). Possess excellent: Written and verbal communication skills. Organizational skills, outstanding planning ability and attention to detail. Strong demonstration of leadership, and controls & compliance culture in a cross-functional organization.
