Service Technician III - HVAC

Our HVAC Service Technician III is a senior-level technician responsible for performing complex maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, independent decision-making, and leadership in mentoring junior technicians. The HVAC Service Tech III ensures customer satisfaction through quality service, timely response, and professional communication.

• Performs advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VAV systems, and controls.

• Leads preventive maintenance programs to maximize system performance, efficiency, and reliability.

• Installs and commissions new HVAC equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

• Provides technical support and mentorship to HVAC Service Technician I and II staff.

• Responds to emergency service calls, prioritizing customer needs and ensuring timely resolutions.

• Utilizes diagnostic tools, schematics, and control systems to resolve complex technical issues.

• Completes and maintains accurate service records, time logs, and documentation within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

• Communicates directly with customers to explain technical issues, solutions, and recommendations.

• Ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies at all times.

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical/trade school or associate degree preferred.

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, including advanced troubleshooting and repair.

• Current EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.

• Advanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration cycles.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

• Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and work in a variety of physical environments.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

• Additional industry certifications (NATE, OSHA, chiller/boiler certifications, etc.) highly preferred.
