Job Summary

Our Boiler Service Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial boiler systems. This role requires prior experience in boiler service and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision. The Technician II ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of heating and hot water systems for TDIndustries' customers in the San Antonio area.


Essential Duties

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, burners, pumps, valves, controls, and related equipment.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to identify and address potential issues before equipment failure.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system problems.

  • Install, replace, and calibrate boiler components and control systems.

  • Accurately document service work, parts used, and recommendations for clients.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, company policies, and applicable codes/regulations.

  • Provide technical support and mentorship to Boiler Service Technician I team members.

  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in proper working condition.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and act as a trusted advisor to clients.


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or trade program preferred.

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in boiler service, HVAC, or related mechanical trades.

  • Strong knowledge of boiler systems, including combustion, water treatment, pumps, valves, burners, and controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Basic understanding of combustion analysis and efficiency testing.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills
  • Boiler operator license or EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).

  • Experience with control systems, electrical troubleshooting, and instrumentation.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting ability.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.

  • Team-oriented, with the ability to mentor junior technicians.
