Purpose of the Role
The General Superintendent plays a critical role in bringing Worley's purpose of delivering a more sustainable world to life. This role leads and coordinates all on-site activities to safely, efficiently, and successfully complete complex projects. Acting as a key partner between engineering, procurement, and field operations, the General Superintendent ensures that projects are executed in alignment with Worley's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and value creation for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within agreed scope and quality standards.

  • Lead site teams, including field administration, procurement, and engineering, to achieve successful project execution.

  • Implement project execution plans in compliance with company policies, procedures, and sustainability objectives.

  • Monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and proactively manage risks to maintain project performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure alignment across all phases of project delivery.

  • Provide leadership in safety management, fostering a culture of care, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Support the development and adoption of new processes, systems, and tools to drive efficiency and deliver sustainable solutions.

  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and updates to senior management and stakeholders with clarity and confidence.

  • Mentor and develop site teams to strengthen technical capability and leadership skills across the organization.

Qualifications / Skillset

  • University degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; or equivalent trade qualification with relevant training and extensive site experience.

  • Demonstrated experience managing medium-scale construction projects, including direct supervision of field teams and coordination of multi-disciplinary activities.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project execution planning, and industry regulations.

  • Proven ability to lead change, implement process improvements, and drive performance in line with strategic objectives.

  • Advanced understanding of systems, processes, and tools related to field construction management, with the ability to troubleshoot and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, resolve conflict, and build strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, with a track record of fostering safe, inclusive, and high-performing work environments.

  • Strong decision-making capability, using sound judgment to solve complex problems and deliver results.

  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop others, contributing to the growth of future talent within the organization.
