Job Summary Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program including the application, designation, and re-designation process. Serves as the Magnet advisor to the nursing leadership team, facilitates the Magnet Steering Committee and Magnet Advisory Committee, and functions as a liaison to hospital departments and consultative resource for administration, nursing, non-nursing employees, physicians, and the community. Promotes nursing excellence, recognition, empowerment through Shared Decision Making and professional development of nurses.

- Coordination and Planning: Coordinates all aspects of the Magnet document submission process. Submits application and supporting documentation in fulfillment of Magnet requirements. Coordinates Magnet site visit. Provides leadership,
oversight, coordination, and facilitation for an action plan, project schedules, and Magnet budget. Establishes timelines and milestones for achieving milestones in the pursuit of Magnet designation. Informs the Chief Nurse of Operations of any problems, concerns, or issues as they arise. - Magnet Readiness Assessment: Performs ongoing Magnet readiness assessment to identify and communicate gaps in required outcomes and document submission. Collaborates with data analyst to direct collection of data to support Magnet
document submission. Communicates gaps with nursing leaders for action planning. Identify action plans/action items required for compliance with ANCC Magnet Designation Criteria. - Data Collection: Ensures appropriate data is collected, analyzed, and reported for Magnet requirements. Works with operational teams to provide guidance and support for data identification, collection, and reporting. Maintains data integrity
and ensures data quality sources are consistent with Magnet submission requirements. - Professional Relationships: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach for optimum outcomes. Interacts with hospital and community to promote Monument Health in a positive manner. Serves as a role model, mentor, and change agent for
nursing professionals and other health care providers. Works collaboratively with all caregivers at Monument Health to provide guidance and support for a culture of nursing excellence. - Magnet Document Preparation: Leads the process for Magnet document preparation. Develops plan with milestones for achievement of document completion. Communicates progress and gaps during the document preparation process. Provides
guidance and education to nursing teams and other disciplines on document requirements and preparation. Responsible for editing of final document to prepare for submission. - Nursing Councils: Oversees the shared decision-making structure and processes for nursing councils. Provides education and guidance to nursing caregivers and other disciplines about the shared decision making process.
- Consultation: Serves as a consultant for nursing leadership, nursing caregivers, and other disciplines regarding the Magnet requirements and process for achieving designation.
- Other Duties: Assumes responsibility for other projects and programs as assigned.
Additional Requirements Required: Education - Bachelors degree in Health Related Field Certification - Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Experience - 5 years of RN Experience Preferred: Experience - 1+ years of Leadership Experience Education - Masters degree in Health Related Field
Physical Requirements:
