Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

Our NIH client requires continued planning and technical support for IT application and website development and maintenance. The focus of these IT support activities is the creation, development, maintenance, operation, and support of a web application infrastructure that provides an efficient, effective, reliable, and secure computing environment in support of the NIH mission.

As a Communications Specialist and Policy Liaison, you will support a team overseeing all verbal and written communications for a federal client. You will drive stakeholder engagement and clearly explain rapidly evolving federal policy requirements, translating those changes into actionable updates for internal policies and information-system implementation. You will apply your program, project management, and Agile experience to drive awareness of rapidly changing federal policies and ensure compliance across the organization.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, people management, or client relationships
  • Experience in federal health organizations such as the NIH
  • Experience with Agile and SDLC product management, including NIH EPLC
  • Experience responding to rapidly changing or evolving federal requirements
  • Experience researching issues, developing expertise, and drafting concise messaging or talking points to accurately convey key messages and manage risks
  • Experience preparing leaders or managers on engagements with their key stakeholders, including user groups and PMO boards
  • Experience working with NIH internal systems
  • Experience with testing and QC
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with the NIH's institutes or centers
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance testing, training, and transition

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
