Program Manager- IT PMO

This role will be responsible for optimizing productivity and nurturing program success from inception through operational optimization. Program Manager will also be a key driver of innovation at the core of IT PMO, spearheading AI-based transformation initiatives that enhance program management capabilities, accelerate decision-making, and increase overall value delivery. This role involves providing leadership in the implementation of portfolio and program management best practices, as well as mentoring and coaching team members to build a high-performing organization.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  • Follow PMO framework guidelines to manage multiple related projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Establish and enforce program governance structures, implement robust escalation paths, performance tracking, and risk mitigation strategies to maintain control and transparency.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies, impacts, and gaps to integrate outputs into a cohesive, value-driven program delivery and champion and facilitate the adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies, including organizing and leading Scrum of Scrums meetings to ensure cross-team coordination and alignment.
  • Drive innovation within the PMO by identifying opportunities to leverage AI-based tools and methodologies, enhancing program management efficiency, decision-making, and value delivery and own program-level reporting, providing clear, timely updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Create and maintain master-level program plans and roadmaps, coordinating with Portfolio Managers and business partners on upcoming demand and priorities.
  • Schedule and lead Governance Board meetings to guide program demand prioritization and decision-making processes.
  • Assess, estimate, and optimize resource allocation by coordinating with multiple supervisors to balance scope, cost, and capacity for maximum delivery effectiveness and drive post-project value realization efforts, ensuring that planned benefits are achieved and sustained.

Required skills:

  • Experience tracking and reporting on project value delivered, ensuring programs achieve measurable business outcomes and some exposure to KPI metrics for PMO.
  • Experience managing complex technology programs comprised of multiple interdependent projects within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with program and portfolio management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Experience establishing and implementing governance, risk management, and performance reporting mechanisms to drive accountability and transparency.
  • Experience using Jira for project management, including building and maintaining portfolio-level dashboards that provide real-time visibility into program status, risks, and key metrics.
  • Experience building, growing, and leading high-performing teams of IT project managers while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maintaining high employee engagement.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with AI tools and platforms applied in project or program management.
  • Experience driving digital transformation initiatives and embedding automation or AI-driven workflows in PMO processes.
  • Experience with business intelligence and leveraging data-driven insights for program decision-making.
