Job Title: Engineer II, Chassis Integration

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group - Heil Environmental

Location: Fort Payne, AL

Reports to: Manager, Engineering Chassis Team

Department: Engineering

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chassis Integration Engineer II will develop and manage processes for all chassis related information and movement to and from the customer, chassis manufacturer, and Heil Environmental. The Chassis Integration Engineer will coordinate the development of our Heil Chassis Specification (701 drawings) and work with the internal sales team and the chassis manufacturers to ensure seamless integration. Candidate will communicate with customers, salesmen, repair vendors, modification vendors, chassis manufacturers, and internal personnel to ensure timely delivery chassis in and out of the Heil facility. The Chassis Integration Engineer will own the chassis integration value stream for Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) and lead efforts to reduce variation through continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for chassis logistics from chassis supplier shipment through delivery to customer:
    • Validation of chassis to 701 drawings.
    • Verification of chassis layout upon delivery to Heil.
    • Follow up on chassis related issues in production process.
    • Conduct Root Cause/Corrective Action for issues within value stream.
  • Manage and coordinate the development, implementation, and adherence to chassis 701 drawings.
  • Lead ESG's chassis integration project with chassis manufacturers.
  • Work collaboratively with other internal departments.
  • Support safety, health, and environmental rules and lead by example.
  • Design components for chassis integration.
  • Work with customers and chassis manufacturers.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years' work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and lead small projects teams of cross functional members.
  • Excellent communication skills through multiple means (i.e., phone, face to face, and email).
  • Ability to use CAD and Microsoft (i.e., Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other computer programs.
  • Dependable with excellent attendance record.
  • Frequent travel to chassis manufacturers may be required (up to 30%).
