What is the opportunity? The Portfolio Advisory Group's (PAG) mandate is to provide investment advice and guidance to our financial advisors across equity, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, and managed accounts. In addition, the team manages proprietary equity and multi-asset discretionary portfolios on a rapidly growing UMA platform. The team enables RBC Wealth Management Advisors to consistently deliver investment solutions to their clients with the highest level of competency and confidence in the areas of asset allocation, portfolio management, advisor service, manager selection and thought leadership. What will you do?
- TheSenior Manager is tasked with managing the day-to-day activities of the team which include delivery of the Morning Call, Second Look, First Look, and triaging advisor inquiries.
- Lead a team of investment professionals and encourage a collegial environment that fosters diverse viewpoints.
- Serve as primary oversight of the Guided Portfolio solution suite which includes 6 different equity models across different advisory platforms.
- Ensure adherence to procedures outlined in the department and supervisory manuals.
- Champion the team's thoughts through written comments, conference call participation, and speaking engagements.
- Serve as a thought-leader for the team from an investment perspective as it applies to individual securities, sector views and portfolio positioning.
- Provide ideas and analysis on securities for inclusion within our Guided Portfolios.
- Manage relationship with RBC Capital Markets Research department and
- Develop/maintain relationships throughout the RBC US Wealth Management organization to represent the PAG equity team. This includes compliance, legal, RBCCM, PAG-US, PAG Canada, Advisory Programs, PIT, GPAC and Wealth Management Consultants.
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
- Combination of MBA and CFA or possess one designation while in the process of obtaining the other.
- 10+ years direct industry experience in financial services with 5-7 years in portfolio management or equity research. Demonstrated investment knowledge of the capital markets and global economy.
- Strong understanding of the intricacies of the equity markets and equity portfolio management.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and build portfolios that reflect the views of the group and adhere to mandate.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills.
- Strong and visible sense of judgement and confidence in knowledge of the market and ability to offer sound advice. Strong ability to interact with all levels of staff. Must be able to maintain relationships that will relate to the overall success of the established firm goals.
- Required Licensing: series 7, 63/65 or 66, and 24 or achieve within 180 days.

- Ability to understand the Financial Advisor's business and identify themes and issues that can have an impact on their business.
- Experience working as part of a geographically diverse team.

- International investment experience.
- Knowledge of analytical and market research tools including Factset and Bloomberg.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $130,000 - $210,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
