KPMG is currently seeking a Managing Director to join our Firmwide Data Team

Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Chief Digital Officer; architect and execute a data strategy that not only aligns with the firms goals and KPMG global strategy, but also anticipates future needs in AI, agentic systems and next-generation data platforms; leads the integration of advanced AI and agentic technologies into the firms data ecosystem
  • Identify, evaluate and implement emerging data technologies (that is, generative AI, synthetic data, federated learning, data mesh) to create competitive advantage
  • Direct data strategy, standards, governance, architecture, privacy and third-party data management, with a focus on enabling scalable, secure and ethical AI solutions; design and implement governance frameworks that support both traditional and next-gen data environments, including cloud, hybrid and distributed architectures
  • Drive the development and deployment of modern data platforms, analytics tools and infrastructure to enable advanced analytics, real-time insights and agentic automation Govern and coordinate a federated data management environment, collaborating with business, technology and innovation teams to prioritize data-driven initiatives that drive growth, operational excellence and digital transformation
  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior leadership on data, AI and emerging tech trends
  • Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement in data and analytics; evangelize and educate the organization on the value of data, AI and emerging technologies
Qualifications:
  • Minimum fifteen years of recent relevant work experience; familiarity with leading a governance function
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration or Engineering from an accredited college/university; masters degree preferred
  • Deep domain experience, spanning vendor technologies, data warehousing, quality and governance, Metadata, Master Data Management, Data Quality Tools; establishing data lineage in a traditional structured and Hadoop data lake environments
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning, organizational and execution skills along with excellent interpersonal skills with strong collaboration and teaming
  • Ability to think/conceptualize independently and creatively, quality control and attention to detail and business judgment and ability to synthesize, analyze and extract implications and drive action

California Salary Range: $400000 - $748000
