Job Title: Fresher Data Entry Clerk

Location: McLean, VA 22102

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour on w2 without benefits

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Shift Hours / Week: 40

Notes:


  • Candidates must be able to obtain IRS Clearance after the offer is extended.
  • Clearance process will be initiated post-offer; candidates must comply with all background verification steps.


Job Summary:

  • The IRS is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Indexer to manage and maintain the indexing of critical tax documents and records.
  • The Indexer will ensure that information is accurately categorized and easily retrievable to support the IRS's mission of tax administration and enforcement.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and index tax-related documents, forms, and records according to IRS standards and guidelines.
  • Assign appropriate indexing codes and metadata to ensure accurate classification and retrieval of documents.
  • Maintain and update digital and physical filing systems to enhance document accessibility.
  • Collaborate with other IRS departments to verify document accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy and security regulations.
  • Utilize IRS software tools and databases for indexing and record management.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to indexing activities.
  • Adhere to IRS confidentiality policies and handle sensitive information with discretion.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in document management, indexing, or administrative roles is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with data entry and document management software.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with IRS procedures and tax-related documentation.
  • Experience with federal or government record-keeping systems.
  • Knowledge of database management and indexing software.


Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
