Overview
This role is part time, Hybrid, in office some days in Union Square The Sr. Graphic Designer will be responsible for the visual conceptualization, graphic design, and layout of the company's annual sustainability report. This role requires exceptional creativity and technical skill in visual storytelling and data presentation. The ideal candidate will translate complex, non-technical information into clear, engaging, and accessible content for all stakeholders. Energy sector experience is not required, as the role focuses on the design and layout of content provided by subject-matter experts. Responsibilities:
- Report design and production: Lead the end-to-end design and layout of the annual sustainability report for both digital and print formats.
- Visual storytelling: Develop compelling visual elements, such as infographics, charts, graphs, and illustrations, to effectively communicate complex sustainability data and narratives.
- Layout and composition: Create clear, logical, and visually attractive page layouts that guide the reader through the report. Adhere to design principles, including effective use of typography, color, and white space.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the cross functional teams, and internal stakeholders to understand the content and objectives of the report.
- Data visualization: Transform raw data and metrics to engaging and easy-to-understand visual elements.
- Brand consistency: Ensure the report's design aligns with the company's overall brand identity, leveraging consistent use of colors, fonts, and imagery.
- Revision and finalization: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and prepare final design files for both digital publication and professional printing.
Qualifications:
- Proven graphic design and layout experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing annual reports, editorial design, or similar long-form projects.
- High proficiency in design software, including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Advanced PDF skills beyond simple reading and annotating. Must be able to create, manipulate, and secure PDF documents.
- A keen eye for detail and an understanding of how to use visuals to communicate a narrative.
- Experience with data visualization and translating complex data into simple graphics.
- Knowledge of printing and digital production processes.
- Experience working in a large enterprise and navigating many different departments, teams and stakeholders is required.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40 to $60 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
