The Roads and Highways Practice is seeking an Engineer-in-Training in Portland, OR.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Works with project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
  • Prepares and designs improvement plans for a wide range of multi-modal transportation projects
  • Prepares and/or modifies construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects
  • Analyzes maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects
  • Assists with post design construction support services to respond to contractor RFI's, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations
  • Performs construction inspection on project-specific basis
  • Coordinates work with other disciplines and offices on multi-discipline projects
  • Assists with utility coordination including conflict analysis and coordination with public and private utility companies
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-4 years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiar with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Drafting and design experience with Bentley OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D for the design of alignments and 3D design surfaces
  • Transportation project experience
  • Construction experience
  • 1+ years of experience designing transportation projects
